Tonight we’re at Parker’s Smokehouse celebrating our Immigration Approval! That means we’ve received our 797 approval of our I-800A paperwork.
If you feel confused . . . that’s OK, adoption talk can sometimes feel like a foreign language. All this really means is that once our home study was approved we submitted an I800A application to the USCIS. This results in the 797 approval, which approves our family to adopt a child from China.
The terms I800A and 797 are used interchangeably- technically the I800A is the application and the 797 is the approval, but both terms refer to the same overall process.
So many terms, so many papers!
I guess they don’t call it paper pregnant for nothing! But it will be worth the wait!!!
